Re-Storied Freedom and the Art of Becoming

A Live Testimony of Spiritual Formation, the Parable of the Sower, and Prophetic Purpose

In this long overdue episode, I stood before my church family at Church of the King and shared my raw, unfiltered testimony of Spiritual Formation.

I opened my heart and told my story.

It all began when I got my hands on James K.A. Smith’s You Are What You Love.

The book opened the eyes of my heart and forced me to ask the hardest question of my life: What do I actually love?

Not what I say I love, but what the daily rhythms of my life reveal about the true object of my affection.

Standing before my spiritual family, I took them back to my Genesis—born in Trinidad, arriving in America as a displaced “other” at four years old, searching for freedom I couldn’t yet name.

I walked them through my religious upbringing in Catholicism, where I was labeled a troublemaker for asking too many questions, and my subsequent rebellion into New Age spirituality, Buddhism, and Islam.

No matter where I wandered, I felt the relentless pull of Abba.

I shared my entrepreneurial journey—from Essential Solutions at age 13 to Kharyzmatic Studios to Queens of Virtue—and the intense spiritual warfare that accompanied every step.

I revealed the corporate burnout that brought me to my knees in 2024, and my desperate surrender: “I know how to build according to the world, but I want to build through You.”

I recounted the divine appointment with Apostle Michelle Harding, who walked into my Egypt and destroyed my shackles.

She prophesied over me as a freedom writer and spoke to my hidden passion for fashion design—a dream I had buried so deep that only my children and immediate family knew about it.

That was my confirmation that she was truly hearing from God.

Standing in that very church, with her as my pastor, I declared to my church family: She walked into my Egypt and set me free.

The centerpiece of this message is the Parable of the Sower from Matthew 13.

I walked my church family through the four soils and showed them how my life mirrored each one:

  • The hard path—my religious trauma, where the Word bounced off a beaten-down heart

  • The rocky ground—my New Age season, where I received the Word with joy but had no root

  • The thorns—my entrepreneurial years, where worries, abuse, and the deceitfulness of wealth choked the fruit

  • The good soil—my surrender in 2024, when I finally let the Gardener till my heart

I shared how Spiritual Formation practices—silence, solitude, meditative breathing on Scripture, and examining my heart—transformed my business and my life.

SheRize Media became my ministry, and every strategy I now use is rooted in Scripture: Luke 5, Nehemiah 4, Deuteronomy 8:18.

And this message culminates in something deeply personal—a song I wrote during my Spiritual Formation journey called Prophetic Purpose.

Inspired by Isaiah 61:1-3 and birthed in my secret place with Abba, this song is my declaration of becoming.

It’s the anthem of a freedom writer who has been set free to set others free.

It’s the sound of good soil yielding fruit.

It’s the melody of re-storied freedom and the art of becoming.

And I unveiled it for the very first time standing before my Church of the King family—the community that has nurtured me, prayed for me, and watched me grow.

If you’ve ever felt like an outsider, burned out, or unsure of your calling—this message is for you.

My story is not just my story.

It’s a mirror.

And if you have eyes to see and ears to hear, you might just recognize your own reflection in it.

This is what happens when you let the Gardener tend to your soil—right in the middle of a church family that believes in you.

About Prophetic Purpose

I wrote Prophetic Purpose during the deepest season of my Spiritual Formation journey.

It came to me in the quiet—during silence and solitude, while meditating on Isaiah 61.

This song is my declaration of becoming good ground.

It's the anthem of a woman who was once bound but is now free.

It's the sound of the Gardener's hand at work in my heart.

I pray that as you listen, you'll hear not just my voice—but the voice of the One who is still tending to your soil, calling you into your prophetic purpose.
